Your data, explained

Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 21, 2026 · This policy explains how Rate Pocket handles information in the iOS app and on this support website.

Short version: Rate Pocket does not require an account. App preferences and saved conversion data are stored locally on your device. The app contacts third-party services to retrieve exchange rates and application configuration, and includes Meta/Facebook app-event functionality.

1. Information we handle

Rate Pocket does not ask you to create an account or enter your name, email address, payment information, or precise location in the app.

The app may handle the following information:

  • Currency activity: selected currencies, amounts, saved pairs, alerts, cached rates, and recent conversions.
  • Support requests: your name, email address, topic, and message if you submit the support form on this website.
  • Technical and app-event information: limited information that may be processed by the third-party SDKs described below, such as app activation or installation-related data.

2. Data stored on your device

Rate Pocket stores favorites, cached exchange-rate snapshots, alerts, and recent conversion history locally using the app's on-device storage. This information is used to show your saved data and improve the app's behavior after a refresh or relaunch.

Local data is not synced to a Rate Pocket account or iCloud by the app. You can delete individual saved items from the app. Uninstalling the app removes its remaining local data from that device, subject to the operating system's backup behavior.

3. Third-party services

Exchange-rate service

The app requests currency names, current reference rates, and historical daily rates from the public Frankfurter API. Requests contain the currency pair and, for history, the requested date range. The service may process standard network information such as an IP address under its own terms and policies.

Firebase Remote Config

The app may use Firebase Remote Config to retrieve application configuration. Firebase may process limited installation or device information needed to deliver that configuration. Firebase Analytics is disabled in the current app configuration.

Meta/Facebook SDK

The app includes the Meta/Facebook SDK and app-event integration. Meta may process app activation or other standard app-event and device/app information according to its Privacy Policy and applicable settings. Rate Pocket does not sell your personal information.

Netlify support website

Support requests submitted through this website are processed by Netlify. We use the information you provide to respond to your request and troubleshoot the issue. Do not submit passwords, payment details, or other sensitive information through the form.

4. Retention and choices

Local app data remains on your device until you remove it in the app or uninstall Rate Pocket. Support-form messages are retained only as needed to respond to and manage support requests.

You can control or remove saved app data using the app's delete and clear actions. You can also choose not to submit a support request. Third-party services may provide their own controls for information they process.

5. Children

Rate Pocket is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app or support form.

6. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the app, its services, or applicable requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when a new version is posted.

7. Contact

For privacy questions or requests, please use the Rate Pocket support form.
